Welcome to the official
website of the Oklahoma State Beekeepers' Association (OSBA). We were established in 1939 and were incorporated on September 7, 1976. The
membership form in pdf format can be found here. The Oklahoma State Beekeepers Association will hold its Fall Conference on Friday evening October 24 and all day Saturday October 25, 2008. The meeting will be at the Oklahoma County Extension Auditorium (where we have met in the past on the OSU campus at N. Portland, just south of NW 10th Street in Oklahoma City). The main speaker will be Ed Levi, Apiary Specialist and Inspector for the Arkansas State Plant Board since 1984 and Secretary of the Apiary Inspectors of America. He will talk about the most current information regarding Small Hive Beetles and Colony Collapse Disorder. Also scheduled to speak is Rick Short with Central Life Science Co. His topics are Hivastan and Apistan. Vendors are MannLake and Dadant Bees. Contact information to place your order and have it delivered to the meeting without shipping charges is: MannLake - George Richtmeyer - 405-872-8385 This is the meeting where we announce the Albert Lincoln Beekeeper of the Year Award also this year we will be recognizing Junior Beekeepers of the Year. As a reminder, OSBA dues are for Fall Conference to Fall Conference, so dues for fall 2008 to fall 2009 will be due at the Conference. Membership remains at $15 for individuals and $20 for families. We will be electing officers for 2009, come and support your association. Lunch will be pot luck, so bring your favorite dish. As usual, there will be an auction and door prizes, so bring your good luck for the door prizes and your money for the auction. (Donations of door prizes and auction items are always appreciated.) Hope to see you Friday evening October 24 for the Central Oklahoma Beekeepers meeting, Ed Levi will speak on the subject of Integrated Pest Control. Come join us on Saturday October 25 for the all day OSBA meeting! The OSBA also encourages all state beekeepers to locate, join, and attend monthly meetings of their local association. Your attendance, along with a friend, will serve to increase your enjoyment of beekeeping and to support your local association. The OSBA wishes to thank all of our members for their continued participation, support and membership. We hope that you will reap a good honey crop this year and for many years to come.
